Forum:Cannot Meet/Treaty/CancelTreaty

I cannot meet in v2.1.6-0 or v2.1.4 (Ubuntu, Hardy) or do anything related to treaties. The only changes I have made to the game was a few edits to a save game or two, though I cant find a problem in the code of the save that would suggest meetings were disabled. I haven't made any changes to the config files directly, so they should be as new. I reinstalled v2.1.4 first, then upgraded to v2.1.6 to try and fix it. I didn't try removing the files before reinstalling because I assume that they will be overwritten anyway since root is rwx. Any ideas?

• update* I forced some changes to the save file under the diplomacy category on some of the 'rivals' in the current game, forcing them to be allies et-cetera, and the meet and other options became active again.
